Royal Challengers Bangalore had an absolutely cakewalk victory over Deccan Chargers in the 3rd place play-off match at the DY Patil Stadium. The Chargers put on a terrible performance to be bowled out for a paltry 82 batting first. RCB Skipper Anil Kumble made most of their low intensity approach by capturing 4 for 16 in 3.3 overs to get the Man of the Match.
Anirudh Singh was the top scorer for DC with a 39-ball 40. There was an impressive spell of left arm spin from newbie Nayan Doshi, son of former Indian Test player Dilip Doshi. Nayan flighted the ball liberally to get plenty of turn to finish with neat figures of 4-0-17-1. The RCB knocked off the target in 13.5 overs at the loss of one wicket. Rahul Dravid helped himself to an unbeaten 35 from 30 balls while Pietersen finished off the match with his unbeaten cameo of 29 from 21 balls.
