Kevin Pietersen Royal Challengers BangaloreKings XI Punjab’s atrocious fielding performance allowed Royal Challengers Bangalore to sting them with a thrilling 6-wicket win at Mohali. The hosts despite putting up 181 for 5 on the board and then having the match under control let it slip totally by dropping several catches. One hopeless over from Brett Lee was also the cause of the shocking defeat for Kings XI Punjab.

The hosts put up a good show with the bat it seemed with Skipper Kumar Sangakkara making 45 from 27 balls, Ravi Bopara with 42 from 33 balls and most importantly Yuvraj Singh looking dangerous with his 20-ball 36. RCB in their chase was always looking at a tall task but a lovely 76-run stand between Pietersen and Virat Kohli (42 from 26 balls) set up the platform for the final slog.

RCB needed 72 runs off the last 6 overs which they got in style with Robin Uthappa changing the match situation with a 8-ball 22! Man of the Match Kevin Pietersen, the set batsman stayed right till the end with an unbeaten 44-ball 66 to ensure that RCB won comfortably with five balls to spare.
