RP Singh double strike puts Punjab on backfoot

Left arm quick RP Singh picked up two wickets as Punjab despite putting up a breezy score of 51 in 13 overs find themselves on the backfoot in their Ranji Trophy Super League encounter against Uttar Pradesh. Punjab were given a brisk start by Sarual Kanwar who scored 38 from 40 balls before getting dismissed by RP Singh.

The toss was won by Punjab and they decided to bat first at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. At the time of this blog, Punjab have moved to 65 for 2 in 15 overs with Mandeep Singh on 13* and Karan Goel on 6*.

The first to go for Punjab was Ravi Inder Singh, the left haner who looked to flick across the line off RP Singh which resulted in a thick edge caught in the slip cordon by Raina. The other opener Sarul Kanwar had a half hearted probe in the corridor of uncertainity off RP Singh to get caught behind by the keeper.
