Shoaib Akhtar named in Pak’s Squad for India Tour

Controversial fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been named in a 16-man squad for next month’s One Day Series against India. The fast bowler who was slapped a 13-match by the PCB is all set to make a comeback in the fifth and final ODI at Lahore of the ongoing One Day Series against South Africa.

According to a PCB release, the Pakistan team will leave India on November 1st. Pakistan is scheduled to play a warm-up one dayer the next day at New Delhi. They then travel to the eastern part of India where they play the first ODI of the series at Guwahati which is on the 5th. The tour is going to consist of 5 ODIs and 3 Tests to be played in the 42-day long tour.

The surprise omission in the Pakistani One Day Squad is that of all rounder Mohammad Hafeez. His place has gone to another opening batsman Yasir Hameed, who is not a multi-dimensional player like how Hafeez is. There is also place for the young all rounder Fawad Alam, the left arm spinner who can bat usefully down the order.
