Sourav continues to perform miserably; Kumble delivers for Surrey

Sourav Ganguly has once again failed to deliver the goods for Northants and this time it was a Twenty20 game against Nottinghamshire. The former Indian Skipper who was recently in the news more because of his off the field exploits scored just 5 as his side failed to reach Nottinghamshire’s 213 for 6. Ganguly was taken for 39 in his 3 overs spell but he got the wicket of New Zealand Skipper Stephen Fleming which was a very small consolation. Former South African all rounder’s 52-ball 72 went in vain for the Northants who have been knocked out of the Twenty20 Championship with this Quarter Final defeat.

Another Indian veteran playing county cricket is Anil Kumble and he is doing reasonably well for Surrey. Anil Kumble was making his Twenty20 Debut in County Cricket and the leggie was well at home giving away just 20 runs in his 3.5 overs and he had taken the wickets of former Aussie all rounder Ian Harvey and No. 11 bat, James Averis. Surrey has won this Quarter Final match against Gloucestershire by 80 runs after scoring 224 for 5. Mark Ramprakash smashed a 50-ball 85 and Pakistani all rounder Azhar Mahmood scored a sizzling 42-ball 79 for Surrey.
