Sri Lanka totally humilated Team India in the 5th Match by posting a resounding win of 8 wickets with as many as 209 balls to spare! With this grand win, Sri Lanka have forced their way into the Final! This was after bundling out India for a paltry 103 in 33.4 overs! The low target was chased down in just 15.1 overs because of a blazing opening wicket stand of 79 in 9.2 overs between Tillakaratne Dilshan (35 from 23 balls with 8 fours) and Mahela Jayawardene (33 from 35 balls).

The Man of the Match was swing bowler Thissara Perera who captured his maiden five-wicket haul. Perera finished with dream figures of 7.4-1-28-5. MS Dhoni had won the toss after quite some time and he elected to bat first but only to find his team slip to 77 for 7 in the 26th over. Yuvraj Singh was the only batsman standing up to the challenge but he got stranded with wickets tumbling at the other end. Yuvraj scored 38 with 5 fours and a six (from 64 balls) before getting wrongly out lbw to Malinga.

Though the Indians were done in by a few umpiring errors, the Sri Lankan bowling was absolutely top class and deserved the wickets they got. Nuwan Kulasekara set the tone for the low scoring match by dismissing the two opening batsmen – Sehwag and Karthik cheaply.
