The second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground ended in an expected draw with both teams matching with each other in the batting department. Bowlers on both the sides struggled to get wickets to concede more than 1500 runs. The Indian first innings could only finish just before lunch on Day 5 as the last pair of Ishant Sharma and Pragyan Ojha batted out close to 30 overs.
Sri Lanka finished the match declaring their second innings at 129 for 3 in 45 overs. Kumar Sangakkara added up 42 not out to go along with his first innings score of 219 to pick up the Man of the Match award.
