Tamil Nadu have made an interesting selection this season with medium pacer Lakhmipathy Balaji being elevated as the Captain! The southern state will be missing the services of off spinner R Ashwin who is on national duty in the upcoming Test Series against West Indies. Another important player missing for Tamil Nadu is none other than S Badrinath who is recovering from a rotator cuff injury but he is expected to be back in action in 2-3 weeks.
Openers Abhinav Mukund, Murali Vijay and Wicket Keeper batsman – Dinesh Karthik are the three big names in the Tamil Nadu Squad. Sunny Gupta, a Jharkhand Cricketer till last season has changed colours to get into the Tamil Nadu Squad to bowl his off breaks.
Former Tamil Nadu Ranji player Abdul Jabbar is the batting coach while another ex-cricketer, DJ Goukulakrishnan who was a fast bowler has been named as the Bowling Coach.
