Rain has taken over Chittagong and also the first test. The third day’s play was scheduled to begin 30 minutes early, but what was seen was a wet ground with plenty of puddles along the outfield. To make matters worse, it has been raining and raining heavily at Chittagong. With a huge depression in the Bay of Bengal and the persistent rain, the umpires decided to abandon the third day at 11:30 AM local time.

India is keen in winning the Test Series 2-0 but it looks difficult now with just the two days left in this test match most probably. The visiting side is placed at 384 for 6 and were planning to have a blast this morning and put the Bangladeshi batsmen in. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the unbeaten batsman and everyone knows what kind of damage he can do if he wants to and has a license to do so. However, India might be declaring their first innings at the same score of 384 for 6 and have the Bangladeshis in.

The five Indian bowlers have a slightly difficult task of taking 20 Bangladeshi wickets in the next two days. But this depends on the weather. Just 97 overs have been bowled in the last three days. The Second day’s play could get underway only at 4:30 PM and 20 overs were only bowled. This was only because the sun came out scorching all afternoon. The Bay of Bengal might be having the last laugh in this Test Match looking at the rain interruptions during the last three days and also the fact that the third ODI at this same venue on the 15th was abandoned as well.
