Tamil Nadu have Punjab reeling at 114 for 5 in their second innings having piled up a lead of 293. Tamil Nadu are well set for an innings victory on the fourth day with five more wickets to capture. Punjab are still having a deficit of 179 to wipe out to save themselves from an embarassment at Amritsar. Left arm spinner Aushik Srinivas has been the pick of the bowlers for TN taking three wickets.
Earlier in the day, Tamil Nadu stretched their first innings total from an overnight 340 for 6 to 521 for 9 declared. Skipper Dinesh Karthik went onto complete a century and got out after scoring 117. C Ganapathy chipped in with a slow 44. For Punjab, Sarabjit Singh took 4 wickets having bowled 37 overs.
