Trinidad & Tobago stormed into the Semi Finals of the Champions League through yet another blistering batting performance. The Caribbean Side did itself a favour by topping the Leage A which means that their Semi Final match will be at the batting friendly pitch at Hyderabad and not on the villainous track at Delhi.

At Hyderabad, T&T blasted to a record total of 213/4 in 20 overs. Their opponents – Diamond Eagles went down fighting despite chasing a mountain of a target and they lost by just 24 runs. T&T were powered to that total thanks to Adrian Barath (63 from 41 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes), Navin Stewart (33 not out from 11 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes), Lendl Simmons (40 from 25 balls with 6 fours and a six) and William Perkins (35 from 25 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes).

Diamon Eagles kept their pride by coming up with a strong reply of 189 for 5, it was another matter that they fell short of the target. Opener Rilee Rossouw showed a lot of sparkle in his 19-ball 44 which had 5 fours and 3 sixes. His fellow opener Morne van Wyk (25 from 14 balls) provided a dream start along with him to put on 54 for the first wicket in just 4 overs! T&T managed to take wickets at the right intervals to control the game in their favour. Barath, who was playing his first match of the tournament picked up the Man of the Match award.
