Uttar Pradesh got bundled out for an embarassing 62 in their first innings yesterday but bounced back in style to beat Bengal by three wickets. The hosts who were set a target of 235 for a win were at 53 for 2 at the start of the third day’s play.
A 93-run stand for the fourth wicket between Skipper Mohammad Kaif (41) and Parvinder Singh (62) set things up for UP. Bengal fought back removing the two batsmen but were held up by the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Piyush Chawla and others who saw UP to victory. For Bengal, Ranadeb Bose picked up three wickets to along with his five-wicket haul in the first innings.
