Venugopal Rao to lead Board President’s XI against England

Andhra Captain Y.Venugopal Rao has been named as the Skipper of the Board President’s XI Squad that would be playing against England. This three day warm-up game begins on the 23rd of this month at Baroda. The two Indian Openers who had cooled their heels in the just concluded Indo-Pak Test Series – Gautam Gambhir and Wasim Jaffer also figure in this 14-man squad. Also included are two pacers who are reckoned to be the fastest two in Indian Cricket and they are Punjab’s Vikram Singh and Maharashtra’s Munaf Patel. Dinesh Karthik would be the wicket keeper and has edged out Parthiv Patel for this spot.
