Indian middle order batsman, Venugopal Rao has been named as the Captain of the 14-man India A Squad that would be participating in a Quadrangular Series in Australia in July. Cricket Australia is organizing this tournament which is named as the Top End Series and it features the ‘A’ sides of Australia, India, New Zealand and Pakistan. India A is also scheduled to play two four day games against Chief Minister’s XI and the Australian A Side. The Squad includes Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Parthiv Patel, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, RP Singh and Piyush Chawla, who have all played for India at either the ODI or the Test level. India A open this tour of Australia with the four day game against Chief Minister’s XI at Darwin on June 30.
