Chennai Super Kings forced Victoria to a Tie in the Group A Match at Port Elizabeth but then lost the contest which was decided via the Super Over. Victoria proved too good by smashing 23 in 1 over and CSK fell short at 13.

It was CSK winning the toss and batting first at the St George’s Park and they were restricted to 162 for 6. CSK got to that total largely because of Murali Vijay’s 73 from 53 balls (with 5 fours and 4 sixes). Victoria in their chase were given a blazing start by the inform Aaron Finch who smashed 41 from 17 balls before getting caught and bowled by Ashwin.

Despite David Hussey’s 51 (from 45 balls with 4 fours and a six), Victoria couldn’t cross the victory line. They were bowled out for exactly 162 in the final ball of the innings to drag the match into the Super Over. For CSK, Suresh Raina was the bowling star taking 4 for 26 in his four overs. Finch was given the Man of the Match.
