India’s best ODI batsman Yuvraj Singh has been picked for the 2-Test Series against England and struggling veteran batsman Rahul Dravid has been retained for the same. India have picked a 15-man squad for the two Tests to be played at Chennai and Mohali which begins from the 11th. Yuvraj is now certain to have got a permanent place in the Test team following the absence of Sourav Ganguly.

The Selection Committee headed by Krish Srikkanth has retained the impressive Murali Vijay, who had a wonderful debut against Australia at Nagpur. Vijay could compete for a spot with Rahul Dravid at no.3 but it is unlikely that the latter would be dropped from the playing XI once after getting selected in the squad. Pragyan Ojha also finds a place in the team and Tamil Nadu Skipper S Badrinath has been retained, both these players are not likely to figure in the playing XI though. The axe has fallen onto RP Singh, who would take the opportunity to find his lost rhythm in the Ranji Trophy matches.
