Fourth ODI goes into reserve day due to rain

August 26, 2008

The fourth ODI that was to be played today in Colombo has been moved to tomorrow because of a wash out. So far the series has been lucky enough not to have been spoilt by the rains although it is the monsoon season in Sri Lanka. Today was one day when the rain, not so heavy, decided to be relentless much to the disappointment of a decent crowd turn out.

It was just a steady drizzle that prevented the start of the action and there was no let off at all right till the evening. The Umpires had called off the game just before 6 PM. The positive aspect is that there is a reserve day scheduled for tomorrow. So weather permitting, the 4th ODI will be played at the same time at 2:30 PM local (09:00 GMT). India is leading the 5-ODI Series 2-1.
