Paul Stirling who already has a taste of playing ODIs for Ireland scored a quick century to enable his side to beat USA U19 at Christchurch. It was an evenly matched contest with USA posting 217 with two half centurions in Steven Taylor (57) and Saqib Saleem (62). Craig Young and Lee Nelson took three wickets each for the Irish.
Ireland got the target losing five wickets in 43.5 overs courtesy of the century from Stirling. Ryan Corns provided the fight with the ball for the Americans taking three wickets.
