Farhat, Butt revive Pakistan in decider

Pakistan are at 128 for no loss in 56 overs in their second innings after conceding a huge first innings lead of 248 in the third and final Test at Napier. First innings centurion Imran Farhat is on 55 (from 169 balls) along with fellow opener Salman Butt who is on 66 (from 169 bals). The deficit for the visitors has come down to 120 and the match is now wide open.

Earlier in the day, the Kiwis stretched their first innings total to 471 having resumed the third day’s play at 346 for 6. Overnight batsman Daniel Vettori went onto score 134 and another overnight batsman Daryl Tuffey got an unbeaten 80 which incidentally is his maiden test fifty. Leg Spinner Danish Kaneria toiled hard bowling 53 overs to finish with an impressive 7 for 168.
