England Innings

Over 2.1: Boundary! K Mills to Joe Denly, short of length delivery, drives it through covers for a boundary.

Over 3.5: Bowled him! S Bond to Joe Denly, good length delivery, got him, this one too comes back sharply and stays very low to beat Denly’s defence and hit the off stump!

Over 5.1: He is Caught! S Bond to Owais Shah, good length delivery, shuffles across to play the big pick up shot but can only get a thick edge to the keeper, that was played to a ball well outside off!

Over 7.5: Sixer! S Bond to P Collingwood, bangs it short, pulls it away over mid wicket for a flat six.

Over 10.5: Boundary! K Mills to P Collingwood, pitched up delivery, lofts it flat between the non striker and mid on for a boundary.

Over 10.6: No runs. K Mills to P Collingwood, short and rising delivery, sways away from the line of the delivery. There is a run out situation with Colly moving out of his crease thinking that the over was called and it was finally left to Vettori to show his sportsman spirit and take it easy with the appeal.

Over 13.3: Boundary! J Franklin to Eoin Morgan, short and wide, cuts that infront of point for a boundary.

Over 15.1: Boundary! J Franklin to P Collingwood, short of length delivery, pulls that away through mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 15.5: Sixer! J Franklin to P Collingwood, short of length delivery, swivels back and has enough time to pull that over backward squareleg for a six.

Over 18.2: He is Caught! Ian Butler to Eoin Morgan, short and rising delivery, attempts an upper cut but the extra bounce and pace takes the edge towards the keeper who leaps up and cannot hold onto it but first slip does off the rebound from McCullum’s gloves.

Over 31.2: He is Caught! Grant Elliott to G Swann, short of length delivery, goes for a predetermined pull shot and can only miscue it high up in the air and has McCullum taking an easy catch behind the stumps.

Over 34.6: Out LBW! S Bond to R Bopara, short of length delivery, this one horribly stays low and cuts back to strike the pad very very low infront of middle and there is no chance for the batsman!

Over 35.1: No runs. Grant Elliott to R Sidebottom, short of length delivery, looks to tick it down the legside but seems to have made no connection with the bat nor the glove. Eng have taken the batting powerplay.

Over 38.3: Boundary! Ian Butler to R Sidebottom, short of length delivery, pulls that in the air over squareleg for a boundary.

Over 40.2: Boundary! J Franklin to R Sidebottom, pitched up delivery, plays a delightful ondrive that beats mid on to his right for a boundary.

Over 41.4: Four Byes! D Vettori to R Sidebottom, flighted delivery, goes back and is beaten by one that turned in sharply and leaves McCullum no chance to stop that.

Over 43.1: He is Caught! D Vettori to R Sidebottom, flighted delivery, flicks it in the air straight to the man at mid wicket! New Zealand need 147 runs to win from 50 Overs.

Over 0.1: No runs. J Anderson to B McCullum, short of length delivery, plays it defensively to extra covers. NZ need just 139 runs to qualify for the Semis.

Over 1.1: Four Leg Byes! R Sidebottom to M Guptill, pitched up delivery, deflects the inswinger off his pad past the keeper to the fine leg boundary. * Guptill had picked up three runs in the last ball of the last over.

Over 2.1: Boundary! J Anderson to Martin Guptill, short of length delivery, chops his cut shot off the inside edges which escapes the stumps and races away to the fine leg boundary.

Over 3.3: Boundary! R Sidebottom to B McCullum, pitched up delivery, plays a wristy flick shot with fast hands over mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 4.3: Boundary! J Anderson to Martin Guptill, good length delivery, gets forward and pushes hard at that resulting in a thick edge that flies quickly behind point for a boundary.

Over 22.1: Boundary! J Anderson to Neil Broom, short and wide, plays a smacking cut behind point for a boundary.

Over 23.6: He is Caught! S Broad to G Hopkins, short and rising delivery, thats another nasty one from Broad and Hopkins has no chance to avoid that, gloves that behind like Elliott. The line is superb from Broad, pitching them around middle and forcing the batsmen to play at such rising ones.

Over 24.6: Boundary! R Sidebottom to D Vettori, short and wide, cuts that over the top of point for a boundary.

Over 26.1: He is Caught! R Sidebottom to Neil Broom, short of length delivery, tries to force a cut shot but gets done in by the extra bounce which takes the edge to the keeper.

Over 27.1: Boundary! S Broad to D Vettori, bangs it short, pulls that in the air over mid wicket for a boundary. New Zealand win by 4 wickets and are through to the Semis.
