Bangladesh’s Captain Mashrafe Mortaza has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing ODI Series against New Zealand because of an on-field injury during the first ODI at Mirpur. Mortaza had twisted his ankle while into his second over. Despite Mortaza not able to take any further part, Bangladesh held onto a victory.
In Mortaza’s absence, the Captaincy reigns have been given back to all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Meanwhile, medium pacer Nazmul Hossain is also out with an injury and Bangladesh have named Syed Rasel and Dolar Mahmud as replacements.
