Oram drowns Bangladesh in Napier ODI

Jacob OramJacob Oram smashed 83 from 40 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes to set up a huge win for the Kiwis in the first ODI at Napier. Oram not only rescued his side from a precarious 187 for 6 but blasted them to 336. Neil Broom supported him with a near run-a-ball 71.

Bangladesh in reply folded to 190 crashing to a 146-run loss with only Tamim Iqbal standing tall with 62. Skipper Daniel Vettori once again took three wickets. Oram chipped in with the ball as well taking two wickets.

Earlier in the day, debutant opener Peter Ingram (69) and Ross Taylor (51) scored good fifties to take their side from 19 for 2 to 117 for 3. For Bangladesh, fast bowler Shafiul Islam did the damage taking four wickets.
