Pakistan reduced New Zealand to 147 for 8 in their second innings having conceded a 96-run lead. Mohammad Asif was the wrecker-in-chief again for Pakistan with four wickets besides getting good support from fellow new ball bowler Mohammad Aamer who took a couple. Ross Taylor top scored for the Kiwis with 48 before getting run out. Pakistan were earlier bowled out for 332 in their first innings. New Zealand now hold onto a second innings lead of 244 going into the final day.
