Daniel Vettori scored his 5th Test hundred and in the process took New Zealand to a commanding 346 for 6 (in 106 overs) at Stumps on Day 2 of the third Test. The hosts resuming at 47 for no loss were put under pressure at 145 for 5 with leg spinner Danish Kaneria taking four wickets. Pakistan failed to wrap things up from this stage as Skipper Vettori (100*) and Brendon McCullum (89) put up a superb partnership of 176 for the sixth wicket. New Zealand at stumps have got into a first innings lead of 123.
