Afridi bowls Pak to massive win over Kenya

Shahid Afridi KenyaPakistan crushed minnows Kenya by a huge margin of 205 runs in the Group A Match at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. Pakistan who won the toss and decided to bat first came up with a total of 317 for 7. And then their Skipper Shahid Afridi was unplayable for the Kenyans as he finished with 5 for 16 in 8 overs to skittle them out for 112 in 33.1 overs.

The batting from Pakistan looked ordinary at the start but they recovered along in the middle overs thanks to no.3 Kamran Akmal, who scored 55 from 67 balls (with 5 fours) and Younis Khan (50 from 67 balls with 2 fours). Misbah-ul-Haq with 65 from 69 balls (with a four and 2 sixes) and Umar Akmal with 71 from just 52 balls (with 8 fours and a six) provided the final onslaught. Kenya conceded as many as 46 extras with 37 of them coming through wides. Thomas Odoyo was their most successful bowler taking 3 for 41 in 7 overs.

In the run chase, Kenya started well but lost their way once Pakistan introduced its spinners. No.3 bat Collins Obuya was the top scorer with 47 from 58 balls which included 3 fours and 3 sixes. Umar Akmal got the Man of the Match ahead of Afridi.
