Aus pile up lead after dismissing Pak for 258

Pakistan were bowled out for just 258 in their first innings to concede a significant lead of 196. The Aussies in their second innings finished the third day’s play at 111 for 3 in 34 overs to stretch the lead past 300. Shane Watson came good again with an unbeaten 64 pulling Australia from a tricky position of 40 for 3.

For the tourists, Misbah-ul-Haq scored an unbeaten 65 to put up some sort of a fight. Overnight batsman Umar Akmal scored 51. Left arm quicks Bollinger and Johnson took three wickets each.
