England have fought back pretty well after a bad show on the first day but they are still under pressure with a deficit of 69 runs with already Skipper Andrew Strauss back to the pavilion. This was after restricting Pakistan to 308 to concede a first innings lead of 75 runs.

Newcomer Azhar Ali played a heroic knock of 92 not out (from 176 balls with 15 fours) for the visitors while veteran Mohammad Yousuf came good for his 56 (from 108 balls with 8 fours). England was kept in the game by a 4-wicket haul from off spinner Graeme Swann. At Stumps on Day 2, England are at 6 for 1 in their second innings.
