Michael Hussey was the Man of the Match in SydneyAustralia pulled off an unbelievable victory in the Sydney Test! Starting the fourth day’s play at 286 for 8 and with just a second innings lead of 80, the hosts were on the brink of a certain defeat. But what happened was totally unexpected with Michael Hussey getting stubborn support from Peter Siddle to bat right through the first session. The match had slipped from Pakistan’s hands and they just didn’t deserve to win for dropping Hussey twice yesterday!

Hussey made Pakistan pay penalty for the dropped catches from Kamran Akmal to stay undefeated on 134 (from 284 balls with 16 fours). Peter Siddle batted out 117 balls to score 38 while standing there for nearly four hours! The no.10 batsman put on 123 runs with Hussey. Danish Kaneria finished the innings by removing no.11 Doug Bollinger in the first ball he faced to claim his 250th Test victim. Australia were bowled out for 381 in the end and the target for Pakistan was a tricky 176 on a wearing Sydney pitch.

Nathan Hauritz made sure that Hussey and Siddle efforts were not wasted. The off spinner captured five wickets in just 12 overs to demolish Pakistan for 139. Mitchell Johnson, the top wicket taker of 2009 took three wickets as well. Another left armer Doug Bollinger took two wickets including that of a free stroking Imran Farhat and the possible match winner Umar Akmal. Pakistan collapsed in just 38 overs with only Umar Akmal looking good at the wicket with his 49 (from 81 balls with 6 fours).

Hussey picked up the Man of the Match while Australia have sealed the 3-Test Series 2-0.
