Salman Butt takes over as Pakistan Test Captain

Salman Butt has been appointed as Pakistan’s Test Captain with immediate effect by the PCB. Butt replaces Shahid Afridi, who came out of retirement from Test Cricket and was named as the Skipper for the Test Series against Australia butonly to make an U-turn by deciding to quit the format. Wicket Keeper Kamran Akmal will be the Vice-Captain of the Pakistan Test team. Meanwhile Afridi’s place in the XI for the second and final Test at Headingley has gone to former Captain Shoaib Malik.
