Remember Pravin Tambe? Well, he is the same leg-spinner, strong and stout, who played for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and made quite some name for himself. The interest about Pravin Tambe then was not just about him picking wickets but the fact that he was a 42-year-old getting to play in the fast forward version of the game. More than that the astonishing fact was that Pravin Tambe had never played any First Class or List A Cricket at all in his life! That is going to change though as Pravin Tambe is all set to get his elusive Ranji Cap from Mumbai.

Pravin Tambe who is the Captain of the DY Patil Sports Academy B team bagged the Golden Wicket award during the Champions League 2013. Tambe gets his chance in Ranji Trophy as Mumbai finds itself searching for quality spinners. Meanwhile, Mumbai have made Abhishek Nayar as the Captain with Zaheer Khan’s commitments with the Indian team.
