South Africa defeated Netherlands by a massive margin of 231 runs in yesterday’s Group B Match at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. The Proteas asked to bat first after losing the toss had piled up 351 for 5 despite a modest start. Hashim Amla (113 from 130 balls with 8 fours) and AB de Villiers (134 from 98 balls with 13 fours and 4 sixes) cracked centuries to power SA to the big total. JP Duminy provided the final touches with 40 from just 15 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes.
The Dutch were bowled out for just 120 in 34.5 overs with only opener Wesley Barresi who made 44 from 66 balls contributing anything significant. Leg Spinner Imran Tahir got amongst the wickets for the Proteas taking three. AB de Villiers got the Man of the Match.
