South Africa crushed Afghanistan by 59 runs in the Group C Match at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. SA were restricted to 139 for 7 by a spirited Afghan attack. A skiddy pacer by the name Hamid Hassan was worth watching as he took 3 for 21 in his four overs. Kallis was the top scorer for SA with a patient 34 from 33 balls.
With the pitch being fast and bouncy, Afghanistan just didn’t have the class to stand up against the quality SA attack. Their innings folded to 80 all out in 16 overs though there were a few sparkles in the end from a couple of batsmen. Morne Morkel hit the right lengths to bounce out four batsmen while Charl Langeveldt got three.
