South Africa beat Zimbabwe by 45 runs in the 1st ODI at the Willowmoore Park Main Oval in Benoni. The homeside posted 295 for 5 with Hashim Amla top scoring with 80 from 96 balls. AB de Villiers scored 51 from 51 balls and Albie Morkel gave the finishing touches in the innings with his unbeaten 50 from 39 balls. Zimbabwe gave a decent fight in reply with 250 for 6. Tatenda Taibu struck an unbeaten 103 from 112 balls and got good support from Stuart Matsikenyeri who scored 86 from 87 balls.
