Mohammad Hafeez put on an all-round show that helped Pakistan beat Sri Lanka at Centurion in their second warm-up game. Sri Lanka batting couldn’t fire in this game as they lost wickets at regular intervals to end up at 162 for 7. This was despite a good start of 45 in 5 overs from Tharanga (30 from 19) and Jayasuriya (27 from 25). Mohammad Hafeez put on the brakes with off breaks conceding just 18 in his 4 overs besides removing Jayasuriya and Chamara Silva.

Pakistan eased their way to the target by five wickets with seven balls to spare. They were given a superb start of 94 in 9.3 overs by Salman Butt (51 from 31 with 8 fours and a six) and Mohammad Hafeez (45 from 28 with 6 fours and 2 sixes). Pakistan did lose a few wickets after the opening partnership but were nicely guided by an unbeaten 34 from 26 balls by their Skipper Shoaib Malik.
