Sri Lanka upset hosts Australia in the Only T20I match which was played at the bouncy WACA in Perth. Australia batting first after winning the toss were kept on the backfoot at 43 for 5 in 10.1 overs before a 66-run stand between Brad Haddin (35 from 30 balls) and Steven Smith (34 from 23 balls) took them to a respectable 133 for 8. For the visitors, Suraj Randiv tasted easy success with 3 for 25 in 4 overs which earned him the Man of the Match.

The visitors surprisingly chased the runs without any fuss though there was enough high bounce which could have put them in difficulty. But the experienced trio of openers Mahela Jayawardene (24 from 16 balls) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (41 from 34 balls), Kumar Sangakkara (44* from 43 balls) made sure that the Aussies could not sustain any sort of pressure. Sri Lanka won the game easily by 7 wickets with 21 balls to spare.
