Hello folks, welcome to the Champions Trophy 2009/10 Opening game at the Centurion. Its between the hosts South Africa and Sri Lanka. Graeme Smith has won the toss and has put Lanka to bat first.

Over 0.3: Boundary! D Steyn to T Dilshan, pitched up delivery, stretches forward and eases it wide of mid off for a boundary.

Over 1.3: Boundary! Wayne Parnell to S Jayasuriya, short and wide, thats too easy for Sanath and he slaps that flat over covers for a boundary. Just have a feeling that the ball is not coming onto the bat on this track.

Over 1.4: Boundary! Wayne Parnell to S Jayasuriya, short and wide, has plenty of time to go back and hammer that through extra covers for a boundary.

Over 2.2: Out LBW! D Steyn to S Jayasuriya, good length delivery, Sanath doesn’t come forward at all and is cramped by one that swung back to hit the pad infront of middle, Sanath’s bat was coming across the wrong line!

Over 2.6: Boundary! D Steyn to T Dilshan, pitched up delivery, smacks it through extra covers, not much timing but the outfield is very quick to take it all the way.

Over 5.1: Boundary! Wayne Parnell to T Dilshan, short of length delivery, that sits up on this track and Dilshan plays a smacking pull flat through mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 27.1: Boundary! J Duminy to T Dilshan, flighted delivery, drives the half volley through extra covers for a boundary. JP has replaced Botha.

Over 27.4: Boundary! J Duminy to T Dilshan, flatter trajectory delivery, goes back and cuts it very late behind point for a clever boundary.

Over 27.5: Single. J Duminy to T Dilshan, flatter trajectory delivery, gets a fine tickle to short fine leg and gets a single that brings up his 3rd ODI hundred!!

Over 27.6: He is Caught! J Duminy to K Sangakkara, flatter trajectory delivery, doesn’t get to the pitch of the ball and pats it back off the leading edge to JP!

Over 28.5: Boundary! R van der Merwe to T Dilshan, quicker and flatter in the air, drives the half volley past extra covers for a boundary.

Over 29.1: He is Caught! D Steyn to T Dilshan, short and wide, upper cuts the rising one straight in the air to Albie Morkel at thirdman who takes a dolly of a catch!

Over 33.5: Boundary! J Botha to M Jayawardene, flighted delivery, goes back and cuts the top spinner through backward point for a boundary.

Over 37.2: Boundary! J Kallis to M Jayawardene, short of length delivery, rocks back and plays a forcing pull that beats a diving Steyn at the squareleg boundary. Steyn had lost his trousers and had also jarred his shoulder!

Over 38.1: Boundary! Wayne Parnell to M Jayawardene, short of length delivery, flicks it across the line and ends up with an inside edge that beats the diving Boucher for a boundary to fine leg.

Over 40.1: Boundary! A Morkel to M Jayawardene, half volley, thats down the legside and Mahela helps it along its way to fine leg for an easy boundary.

Over 42.3: Boundary! A Morkel to T Samaraweera, good length delivery, shuffles and paddles it flat and wide of short fine leg for a boundary.

Over 43.4: Sixer! J Kallis to M Jayawardene, pitched up delivery, makes room and sweetly lofts that inside out all the way over extra covers for a six, and with that his 50th ODI fifty!

Over 44.2: Single. Wayne Parnell to M Jayawardene, full toss, drives it straight to JP at extra covers and gets a risky run with Jp mising the stumps. Sri Lanka had taken their batting powerplay at the start of this over.

Over 44.5: Boundary! Wayne Parnell to M Jayawardene, pitched up delivery, shuffles across and paddles it magically wide of short fine leg for a boundary.

Over 44.6: Boundary! Wayne Parnell to M Jayawardene, full toss, thats too easy, heading down the legside with the fine leg up in the circle, Mahela heaved it over the man for a boundary.

Over 45.2: Boundary! D Steyn to M Jayawardene, short and wide, makes room and upper cuts it behind point for an easy boundary.

Over 45.5: Boundary! D Steyn to M Jayawardene, full toss, makes room and lifts it beautifully over wide mid off for a boundary.

Over 46.3: He is Caught! Wayne Parnell to M Jayawardene, pitched up delivery, makes room and slices it in the air to JP at extra covers who takes a decent catch.

Over 46.4: He is Caught! Wayne Parnell to T Samaraweera, pitched up delivery, shuffles across to play a pick up shot over the onside but the result is a leading edge that is superbly taken by van der Merwe running in from thirdman. Parnell on a hat-trick with that.

Over 48.4: Boundary! Wayne Parnell to Thilina Kandamby, half volley, makes room and plunders it through extra covers for a boundary.

Over 48.6: He is Caught! Wayne Parnell to Thilina Kandamby, pitched up delivery, backs away and flicks it in the air straight to JP at mid wicket, simple catch indeed.

Over 49.4: Run Out at the Non Striker’s end! D Steyn to Angelo Mathews, short and rising delivery, drags his pull shot towards wide long on and calls for a difficult second which Kulasekara fails to complete at the bowling end.

Over 49.6: Bowled him! D Steyn to Angelo Mathews, pitched up delivery, backs away from his stumps and fails to get under a perfect yorker that crashes onto the legstump. South Africa need 320 runs to win from 50 Overs.

Over 0.5: Boundary! L Malinga to G Smith, short and wide, gets a thick edge in his drive which races away to the thirdman boundary!

Over 2.6: Bowled him! Angelo Mathews to H Amla, short of length delivery, tries to force the issue off the backfoot and can only inside edge it onto the stumps.

Over 3.6: Boundary! N Kulasekara to G Smith, short of length delivery, walks across his stumps and flicks it superbly in the gap through mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 5.1: Boundary! N Kulasekara to J Kallis, half volley, finds the gap for his cover drive to pick up a lovely boundary past extra covers.

Over 5.5: Boundary! N Kulasekara to J Kallis, good length delivery, whips it off the backfoot through mid wicket for a superb boundary.

Over 6.3: Boundary! Angelo Mathews to J Kallis, pitched up delivery, plays a free flowing flick wide of mid on for a sweet boundary.

Over 7.6: Boundary! N Kulasekara to J Kallis, good length delivery, jumps out of the crease and smacks it flat over covers for a boundary.

Over 8.2: Boundary! Angelo Mathews to G Smith, good length delivery, jumps down the track making room and smashes that through extra covers for a boundary!

Over 12.5: Boundary! Angelo Mathews to G Smith, short and wide, waits a touch longer on the backfoot and hammers the slower one wide of Malinga at mid off for a boundary.

Over 13.2: Boundary! M Muralitharan to G Smith, flatter trajectory delivery, whips it off his pads powerfully through mid wicket for a boundary to bring up his 39th ODI fifty.

Over 13.3: Boundary! M Muralitharan to G Smith, flatter trajectory delivery, sweeps the doosra very fine behind the stumps for a boundary to fine leg.

Over 14.1: Bowled him! A Mendis to G Smith, flatter trajectory delivery, gets forward looking to play for the off break but its the leg break that sneaked through bat pad to hit the legstump after brushing the pad. Mendis has replaced Angelo.

Over 20.3: He is Caught! A Mendis to J Kallis, flatter trajectory delivery, goes for a smashing shot on the up but can only get caught by an alert Angelo who dives forward at mid off to take a superb catch.

Over 20.4: Bowled him! A Mendis to J Duminy, quicker and flatter in the air, doesn’t have any clue to come forward or go back and ends up getting cleaned up by a carrom ball that crashes off the inside edge onto the stumps! Mendis on a hat-trick now.

Over 20.5: Two runs. A Mendis to M Boucher, flighted delivery, flicks the hat-trick ball to deep mid wicket for a couple.

Over 22.1: Boundary! A Mendis to M Boucher, quicker and flatter in the air, goes back and edges it past slip who had no chance to take that catch!

Over 26.2: He is Caught! L Malinga to AB de Villiers, bangs it short, goes for an ambitious pull shot in the air but the ball gets big on him and its a mishit that lands into the hands of the mid wicket fielder.

Over 28.2: Boundary! L Malinga to M Boucher, bangs it short, picks the length early and pulls it superbly through wide mid wicket for a boundary.

Over 29.2: Boundary! Angelo Mathews to A Morkel, good length delivery, drives it crisply on the up through extra covers for a boundary.

Over 31.2: Out LBW! Angelo Mathews to M Boucher, pitched up delivery, shuffles across for a flick and misses it and is hit low on his pad, looks like it was just outside the line but that was good enough for Taufel to raise his finger.

Over 31.3: Boundary! Angelo Mathews to J Botha, short of length delivery, inside edges hsi cut shot which escapes the stumps and races away to the fine leg boundary.

Over 33.1: No runs. L Malinga to J Botha, pitched up delivery, drives it to mid on. SA have taken the batting powerplay, Malinga has replaced Matthews.

Over 34.4: Boundary! A Mendis to A Morkel, quicker and flatter in the air, bludgeons it down the ground between the non striker and mid off for a boundary.

Over 35.1: Boundary! L Malinga to A Morkel, pitched up delivery, smacks that wide one through point for a boundary.

Over 35.3: Boundary! L Malinga to J Botha, pitched up delivery, hoicks it with the angle over wide mid on for a one bounce boundary.
