Batting first, the homeside reached 312 for 4 with openers – Upul Tharanga (54) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (71 from 51 balls with 11 fours and 1 six) putting on a century stand. Skipper Kumar Sangakkara chipped in with 52. Bangladesh in reply were bowled out for 186 in 40.2 overs with only opener Tamim Iqbal coming good with a 53-ball 51. Dilshan, the Man of the Match also found success with the ball taking 3 for 37 in 10 overs.
