Sri Lankans’ 2nd innings was off to a solid start with Tharanga getting out with the score at 60. The good work of Tharanga was carried by Kumar Sangakkara and he along with Michael Vandort added 86 for the 2nd wicket and that put Sri Lanka on a solid platform to win this match. In the end Vandort combined with Kapugedera to guide the tourists to a smooth victory. Vandort was unbeaten on 90 and Kapugedera made a powerpacked 44 which included a six as well. Sri Lankans pulled off the win in little over 58 overs. Overnight rain had delayed the start of play on the final day and Derbyshire declared their innings to leave just 60 overs for the Sri Lankans to achieve this target.
