Sri Lanka suffered a heavy 81-run defeat against the dominating Australia at the Kensington Oval. The Lankans had Australia under the mat at 67 for 5 in the 11th over but ended up conceding 168 because of a brilliant counter attack innings of 85 not out (from 49 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes) from Cameron White. Michael Hussey joined the rescue act again with an unbeaten 39 from 26 balls to support White in an unbroken sixth wicket stand of 101.
The Aussies were rattled up by the tall Suraj Randiv who troublem them with his kicking top spinners. Randiv picked up 3 for 20 in his four overs. Sri Lanka in their chase were never in the hunt and got bundled out in 16,2 overs for a paltry 87. Mitchell Johnson was the most successful bowler taking three wickets.
