India whitewashed West Indies 2-0 with an innings and 126 runs win in the Second and Final Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match lasted just a little over two hours on Day 3 thanks to a spectacular collapse from the tourists. The conclusion of the match was followed up by the farewell ceremony of Sachin Tendulkar, whose glorious cricketing career came to an end.

Resuming the third day’s play at 43 for 3, West Indies were bowled out for just 187 with their second innings lasting just the 47 overs. Pragyan Ojha collected the second fifer of the match to finish with a 10-wicket haul. The left-arm spinner got the Man of the Match award while Rohit Sharma was adjudged as the Player of the Series.

The first wicket of the morning fell with Marlon Samuels getting stumped out, trying to go big against the turn off Ojha. Gayle scored 35 before he was caught behind, edging his cut shot off Ojha. The same bowler had Narsingh Deonarine caught and bowled after a false drive from the left-hander. The big wicket of Chanderpaul (41) went to R Ashwin through a well disguised drifter that had the left-hander lbw.

Wicket Keeper Denesh Ramdin was the only batsman apart from Chanderpaul showing any intent of staying at the wicket. Ramdin remained unbeaten on 53 before he fell short of partners at the other end. Ojha took 5 for 49 and Ashwin took 4 for 89.
