James Hopes MCGAustralia won the fifth and final ODI at the MCG by 125 runs to complete a 4-0 Series win. Batting first, the hosts piled up 324 for 5 thanks to a blistering unbeaten cameo of 57 from 26 balls (with 10 fours) from James Hopes. Shane Watson (51 from 51 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes) and Ricky Ponting (61 from 55 balls with 3 fours and a six) were the other half centurions.

In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 199 in just 36.5 overs. Doug Bollinger was the chief wicket taker with 3 for 33. The top scorer for West Indies was Darren Sammy who remained unbeaten on 47. Hopes got the Man of the Match while Ponting picked up the Player of the Series award.
