Clarke steers Australia to safety in Adelaide Test

Michael Clarke batted for two and a half hours to save the second Test at Adelaide against a charged up West Indies. The hosts lead the 3-Test Series 1-0 with one more match remaining in Perth.

Australia needing 330 to win were forced to battle it out for a draw with Dwayne Bravo causing jitters taking three wickets. Clarke held the Australian innings with an unbeaten 61 from 108 balls (with 8 fours) along with Brad Haddin who batted out 57 balls to score 21*.

West Indies had got themselves into a near secure position in the morning by adding 33 more runs after resuming from an overnight total of 284 for 8. Chris Gayle remained unbeaten on 165 adding 10 runs today. Mitchell Johnson took the wicket of Ravi Rampaul to clinch his 4th five-wicket haul. The Man of the Match award went to Chris Gayle.
