Carl Hooper was a classy batsman in his own rights during an international career spanning nearly 16 years for the West Indies. This Guyanese right hander played 102 Tests and 227 ODIs besides leading the West Indies in the early 2000s.

Hooper known for being a very good player against spin bowling scored 13 Test hundreds and 7 ODI hundreds. He was a special talent with the bat apart from his useful off breaks that had got him more than 100 wickets in both Tests and ODIs. However Hooper didn’t make full use of his talent and ended up as an under achiever of sorts. Currently like many other former cricketers, Hooper has taken up the responsibility of giving his bit back to the sport as a Coach.
