Kevin Pietersen BridgetownKevin Pietersen struck a well paced 73 not out to guide England to a comfortable six wicket win over Pakistan in the first Super Eights game at the Kensington Oval. Neeing 148 to win, England cruised through the target without any stutters thanks to a dismal fielding show from Pakistan that saw atleast three catches put down by just the one fielder in Saeed Ajmal.

Pietersen showed no hurry in his knock and was more keen in spending time and putting up partnerships. His 73* came in 52 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Pakistan who were asked to bat first were in shatters at 77 for 4 in the 11th over. They somehow managed to reach a competitive 147 for 9 towards the end. Salman Butt was the top scorer with 34 from 26 balls while Umar Akmal scored 30 from 25 balls.

Michael Yardy bowled a tidy spell of 4-0-19-2 for England while Ryan Sidebottom and Stuart Broad also picked up two wickets each. KP got the Man of the Match award.
