West Indies defeated Pakistan by 7 runs in the onlt T20I match between the two sides at the Beausejour Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, the hosts put up a modest total of 150 for 7 thanks to contributions from opener Lendl Simmons who made 65 from 44 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and Darren Bravo who scored 42 from 33 balls.
Pakistan struggled in the run chase with none of their batsmen dominating the proceedings. Umar Akmal scored 41 but took as many balls and in the end Pakistan could only come up with 143 for 9. West Indies had two bowling heroes in Ravi Rampaul who took 3 for 31 and leggie Devendra Bishoo who captured dream figures of 4-0-17-4 to get the Man of the Match.
