Sarwan century aids WI to beat Kenya

Ramnaresh SarwanWest Indies warmed up with a 61-run win over Kenya at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday. Thanks to a century from Ramnaresh Sarwan (123 from 125 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixes), Windies posted 253 for 8. At one stage of their innings, they were in deep trouble at 65 for 4 in the 20th over before Dwayne Bravo (54 from 56 balls with 6 fours and a six) joined Sarwan to put up a rescue stand. Thomas Odoyo took three wickets while Steve Tikolo picked up two wickets for the Kenyans.

The bowling from West Indies came good with new ball bowlers – Kemar Roach (3 for 23) and Andre Russell (4 for 43) getting amongst the wickets. Kenya folded to 192 in 45.3 overs with one down batsman Collins Obuya top scoring with a slow 68 from 105 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Opener Seren Waters chipped in with 43 from 72 balls. All the West Indies bowlers did a good job in keeping a check on the run rate.
