Sarwan returns to the fold for Windies

Ramnaresh Sarwan will be making his full comeback to International Cricket in the home Test Series against Sri Lanka which starts on the 22nd of March.

Sarwan, however will not be back as the Captain with the Selectors deciding to continue with Chris Gayle. Like Sarwan, Gayle is also coming back from an injury which kept him out during the South African tour.

Sarwan had suffered a nasty shoulder in last year’s England tour and then an ankle injury later which has put him out of action for the West Indies.

In between these two injuries, Sarwan did Skipper West Indies in the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship. There are a couple of uncapped players in the squad for the first test which includes Barbados left arm spinner – Sulieman Benn and Trinidad & Tobago off spinner – Amit Jaggernauth.

Other notable inclusions in the West Indies’ squad are opener Sewnarine Chattergoon and all rounder Ryan Hinds.

Left arm medium pacer Pedro Collins, who was originally picked in the squad has opted out because of his interest in keeping his commitment with Surrey as a Kolpak player.
