Queensland made West Indies work hard for a draw in the 4-day tour match at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane. The West Indians were led by Wicket Keeper Dinesh Ramdin as Chris Gayle had left home to Jamaica following his mother’s illness. The visitors had a tough time in their tour opener after getting bowled out for 271 and then conceding a mamoth 617 to the Queenslanders.

The stars of the match were the three centurions from Queensland – Nick Kruger (172), Wade Townsend (100) and Nathan Reardon (147). The West Indians saved the match with all the grit by scoring 357 for 6 and batting out for 115 overs. Adrian Barath top scored with 73 while Ramnaresh Sarwan struck his second fifty of this match.
