Otago Volts had a comprehensive victory by 8 wickets against Faisalabad Wolves (Scorecard) in the 1st Qualifying Match of CLT20 2013 at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
On a seaming pitch, the Kiwi domestic team restricted their Pakistani counterparts to a modest total of 139 for 8. This was after Misbah-ul-Haq had won the toss and elected to bat first. The Skipper himself was the top scorer for the Faisalabad Wolves with a 34-ball 46. The rest of the batsman failed to stand up against the Otago pace attack.

Otago Volts were taken to victory in the 18th over with the third wicket pair of Brendon McCullum and Wicket Keeper Derek de Boorder putting on an unbroken partnership of 101 runs. McCullum smashed an unbeaten 83 from 65 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes. Opener Hamish Rutherford with a 12-ball 25 and Derek de Boorder with a 28-ball 30* played their roles in winning the game for Otago.
