Hyderabad is a domestic team in Indian Cricket which has produced stalwarts such as VVS Laxman, Mohammad Azharuddin, ML Jaisimha and others. In the Indian Premier League, Hyderabad is represented by the Sunrisers Hyderabad and previously by the Deccan Chargers.
Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad
Hyderabad has its world class stadium in the form of the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium which is located in Uppal, in the outskirts of the city. Before the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium which hosted its first international match in 2005, the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium (LB Stadium) located in Basheerbagh was the venue for international matches. The Gymkhana Grounds for long had been the Head Quarters of the Hyderabad Cricket Association. Now the HCA has its offices in not just in the Gymkhana Grounds but also in the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
